89. A slow start

Following heavy snowfall at the start of the year Rich rented a van and went down to Yorkshire to pick our new quad up. On his return I went over the loch to meet him, to return to Inverness, take the van back, pick up our car, have a night in a travelodge where I managed to get 3 baths in, then do a shop before returning home. We hadn't done one since before Christmas so were quite low on fresh stuff. We left the young ones (Rich daughter and partner) to take the quad over on the postboat.
Since then the snow has gone but it still feels cold and the easterly wind is biting.
We've started weeding the veg patch to get it ready for this year and although it's a bit late Rich has planted garlic. I finally cleared the dead tomato plants out of the polytunnel, I've swept the floor and am hoping to wipe it all down once the weather improves.
Rich has been practicing with his digger and will be using it soon to start clearing the gorse we want to get rid of this year.
Work has started again on the house. The foundations for the porch have been dug, very thankful for young energy!
Inside, the plastering has started. The downstairs ceiling is well under way.
Once the walls are done I can start to paint, not sure quite how long that'll be but I've got the paint at the ready.
So there's a bit of movement with the house and garden which will hopefully speed up once it's a bit warmer.
We're still blown away by the beauty of the place, we've just sat on the decking outside the cabin watching the sun go down while drinking hot chocolate ❤️
