The year is racing by, no sooner does a month arrive and it seems to be over. Autumn is truly here, the colours are amazing. The flowers are nearly over in the veg patch and garden but a few are hanging in there. The white cosmos are bedraggled but still managing a few flowers and the last sunflower has only just opened.
On the house front, there's exciting things happening. The first 2 new windows are in, we'll collect more when we visit family in December. Although we've had to go away quite a few times this year we've tried to tie it in with collecting building materials on the way back.
We've got high wind warnings for next week, coinciding with Rich being away. I always worry about the cabin roof blowing off. I'm not sure I'd know where to start to get it back on. But sadly I'm sure the winds will finish the flowers off. They've given such a delightful show of colour all summer even though the weather hasn't been very good.
So Rich leaves in a couple of days, we've only been back a couple of weeks but we've both aging fathers who need a bit of help from time to time and it'll give him chance to see his eldest daughter and have a catch up with my boys. I made the decision not to go with him as tabby was horrendous while we were away and I don't feel I can leave her again so soon.
It'll give me chance to completely clear the polytunnel and get the beds ready for next year, something I don't normally manage until about March. The beds in the veg patch also need doing so you never know, I might excell and get it all done.

Once all the downstairs windows are in we'll continue with the framework for the studded walls then the wiring can start to go in. It'll be sometime apparently before the bath is back in action!
But exciting times as progress is being made and for that I'm immensely grateful. As Autumn has arrived with its array of glorious colours I'm aware of an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the life we have here. The longer I'm here the more I feel this is where I belong. ❣️
