Another very cold night and woken up to snow again this morning. My walk down to the toilet (big news, toilet working again!!) this morning felt magical. So quiet and peaceful, the snow falling silently. The female blackbird swooped down when she saw me so I had to retrace my steps back up to the cabin to fetch her a piece of bread, luckily I baked yesterday.
It feels like we haven't done much, it's difficult to work outside with it being so cold and the ground so wet. We have managed to sow cauliflower, cabbage, tomatoes, leeks, peppers, courgette, beetroot and squash seeds. The tomato seedlings are in the cabin with us, haven't dared put them in the polytunnel yet.
Life in the cabin is wonderful, the extra space, increased light, having an oven in the room we're living in has all made a difference. Still not finished of course but hopefully once the weather improves we can start moving again. We're also starting to think seriously about the house and hoping to get some help with it.
We're getting regular baths at the moment as it's been sunny or windy most days. It's quite a challenge as the house is very cold and the front door is propped open with planks of wood. It's strange being in the bath with a gale blowing round your head, I leave my woolly hat on!
The next week is supposed to be getting warmer so hopefully spring will finally arrive.
